Mr. Sherab Chojay holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He currently serves as the Director of Training and Apprenticeship in the company. Additionally, he is the company’s Brand Manager, Media & Communication Officer, Webmaster, Company Secretary, and Member Secretary of the Advisory Board of the company. Mr. Sherab joined Vajra Builders Private Limited in September 2012 becoming the first Engineer to join the company. Upon joining the company, he took up the construction of Yelchen Central School in Pemagatshel as Project Engineer where he played a key role in the successful completion of the project. He was then fully involved in the construction of JSW Law School in Paro as one of the Project Engineers from the start of the project till its completion in 2022.

Side by side, Mr. Sherab had been a key player in the development and framing of organizational and management system of the company thereby making a significant contribution to the field of management, business analysis and branding. He was actively involved in the development of company’s Internal Service Rules and Regulations and authoring all the company’s policies and procedures that are in force today. He was also involved in conceptualizing and operationalizing the establishment of Vajra Construction and Service Center (VCSC) located at Ramtokto in Thimphu.

Mr. Sherab’s career in the construction industry spans over two decades, during which he has held various roles and contributed significantly to the growth and success of the agencies he has worked for. He started his career as a Consultant Engineer in the construction of Tsirang Dzong and Chhukha Dzong from 2002-2006, where he gained hands-on experience in the design and construction of complex structures.

Following his tenure as a Consultant Engineer, Sherab worked for the Samtse Municipality as the Project Engineer under the erstwhile Ministry of Works and Human Settlement from 2006-2010. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing various construction projects under DANIDA-funded EUSPS projects and ensuring their timely completion within budgetary constraints.

From 2010-2012, Sherab served as the Regional Reconstruction Coordinator for UNICEF Bhutan, where he was instrumental in the reconstruction of school buildings and facilities affected by 2009 earthquake in six eastern districts of Bhutan. His experience in disaster management and reconstruction has given him a unique perspective and understanding of the challenges involved in managing large-scale projects.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Sherab is also a keen literary enthusiast. He has a deep appreciation for literature and culture and is a regular contributor to literary publications of the company. His literary pursuits are a testament to his creativity and his desire to explore different forms of expression.
