Our journey began humbly, but through the unwavering dedication of our employees, we have grown into a leading construction company today. Established in 2005, we have undertaken some of Bhutan’s most significant construction projects, including the prestigious 7-star Six Senses Resort in Thimphu and the majestic JSW Law School in Paro. In recent times, we have expanded our endeavors into the construction of hydropower projects.
Throughout our evolution, we have prioritized the implementation of occupational health and safety standards in construction. In 2019, we achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first private construction company in Bhutan to get certified by the Department of Labour, erstwhile Ministry of Labour and Human Resources for our commitment to workplace safety.
In 2023, we attained further recognition by obtaining certifications for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System). This achievement solidifies our position as the first construction company in Bhutan to fully comply with the rigorous standards set by ISO.

At Vajra, we have a team of experienced Designers and Engineers to provide high quality design and engineering services to customers. We also build high-end energy-efficient buildings, roads, and bridges and have recently ventured into construction of hydropower projects.
Further, we build quality, sustainable homes at affordable price at the location of your choice.
Finally, we have a one-stop center providing total solution to our construction business. It also has a Training and Apprenticeship Section, and Research and Development Section.

MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION
Vajra is a family-owned company the Board of Directors of which consists of Mr. Jamtsho, the Founder and Mrs. Sonam Wangmo, the Co-founder with Mr. Tshewang Dhendup as an Independent Director. It is currently managed by an Advisory Board that consists of seven members.
