About
Established in 2005, we have carried out some of the biggest construction projects in Bhutan including construction of a 7-star Six Senses Resort in Thimphu and JSW Law School in Paro. Lately, we have ventured into construction of hydropower projects in the country.
Over the years, we have invested heavily in the implementation of occupational health and safety in construction. In 2019, we became the first private construction company in Bhutan to get certified by the erstwhile Ministry of Labour and Human Resources for successful implementation of occupational health and safety at workplace. Recently, we got certified for ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) becoming the first construction company in Bhutan to have found to comply with the requirement of ISO standards.

Vajra is a family-owned company the Board of Directors of which consists of Mr. Jamtsho, the Founder and Mrs. Sonam Wangmo, the Co-founder with Mr. Tshewang Dhendup as an Independent Director. It is currently managed by an Advisory Board that consists of seven members.

In my capacity as the CEO of this company, I dream of bringing His Majesty’s visionary notion to life by creating inclusive employment opportunities for the youth of this country.
I find solace in the simple idea that every great undertaking starts with an earnest goal, especially in a field that is sometimes coupled with grandeur and boastful successes. Our business was founded on the idea that there should be a deeper purpose behind what we do, and this attitude has led us through the years.
A remarkable group of gifted individuals that personify commitment, knowledge, and resolute integrity has come together to make up the core of our success. Through the years, they have spoken of quality and forging connections with our clients and business partners. Although the structures we build may be well known to the outside world, the tales that go with those endeavors are what matter most to us.
