Ugyen Gyeltshen is a PMP® credential holder, specializing in project management. He started his career as an Assistant Engineer in Dzongkhag Administration, Lhuentse from 2004-2008. He worked for erstwhile Thimphu City Corporation for one year before he joined Anti-Corruption Commission and worked till 2013 as Deputy Chief Integrity Officer. He then moved on to construction of the 720 MW Mangdechhu Hydropower Project where he served as the Executive Engineer before joining Construction Development Corporation Limited (CDCL). In CDCL (2015 – 2022), he served as the General Manager of Hydropower Construction Division and played the key role in building national youth for hydropower construction.

Ugyen Gyeltshen completed his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, Bangalore, India in 2003. He pursued a post-graduation course on Corruption Studies from Hong Kong SPACE University. Further, he completed his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Canberra.

Currently, he serves as the General Manager of the Hydropower Division at Vajra Builders Private Limited. In this role, he is responsible for steering the private sector in the hydropower construction.
