Values-Based Leadership Training (Module 1)

The three-day Values-Based Leadership Development Training (Module-1) concluded successfully today. Attended by the management team of Vajra including Chief Executive Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the company, the training is being conducted by the Royal Institute of Management (RIM) at Vajra Construction and Service Center (VCSC) in Thimphu. Module-2 and Module-3 of the program are scheduled in the months of June and July respectively with a gap of one month in between dedicated for reflective writing vis-à-vis practical application.

Tour to Mindfulness City

The second team, comprising officials from business communities including our CEO, took off from Paro today on a tour to Mindfulness City in Gelephu. The tour is coordinated by His Majesty’s Secretariat as per the Royal Command.

Appreciation from KUZU Company Limited

With the New Year wish, the Group CEO of KUZU Company Limited presented to us the Certificate of Appreciation for the hospitality extended to them during the visit of his team to Bhutan and for being a leader in nation building on 1st January 2024.

Vajra soft-launches its ERP System

Coinciding with the auspicious 15th day of the 7th lunar month, Vajra soft-launched its ERP System today, achieving yet another milestone in the history of the company. The system is expected to optimize its business processes by bringing together all the divisions of the company, which were otherwise operating in silos. This launch also fulfilled one of the company’s immediate objectives of leveraging technology to its advantage. 

The event was graced by our Chief Executive Officer, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, top management of the company, and developer team from Thimphu TechPark Limited.

Celebration of 18th Foundation Day

Coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Birth Anniversary of Guru Rimpoche, Vajra celebrated its 18th Company Foundation Day today at Vajra Construction and Service Center (VCSC) in Thimphu. It was marked by the launch of two important milestones in the company’s history: first, company’s website; and second, Vajra Residency – an affordable housing solution to those who are dreaming of a place to call home. 

Trainees from TTI-Chumey Join Us

Seven trainees from Technical Training Institute in Chumey undergoing Modular Course joined us today to work in the field for a period of time to get enough experience before they take up another module. Out of seven, two are in Welding trade and the rest in Tile Laying. We already have three masonry graduates under the same program who joined us on 8th February 2023. 

The trainees have been inducted and oriented on the company’s work culture and ethics before they were allowed to enter the work site. 

Vajra Signs MoU with JNEC

Vajra Builders Private Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Jigme Namgyel Engineering College today. The MoU was signed by Mr. Jamtsho, CEO of Vajra Builders Private Limited and Dr. Tshewang Lhendup, President of JNEC in the presence of Advisory Board members of Vajra Builders and Deans, HoDs and Program Leaders of JNEC.

The MoU will enable the partners to collaborate in various capacity development and strengthen the knowledge and skills transfer initiatives from both the ends. Facilitation of industrial experience guest lectures from Vajra, field attachment of staff of JNEC at Vajra, and facilitating internship of JNEC students at Vajra are part of the bilateral agreement. 

World Day for Health & Safety at Workplace

With the theme of “Implementing 5S: Ultimate Blueprint of Construction Success”, the World Day for Health and Safety at Workplace was observed today at Vajra Construction and Service Center (VCSC) in Ramtokto with a team of officials from the Department of Labor, Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment led by the Director as the guest of honor.

The company’s first ever celebration of this important day was marked by the inauguration of Demonstration and Training Platform, which is constructed for providing training on prevention of fall from heights to the employees and workers before they are sent to various construction sites. On this day, the company also received certificate of excellence for successful implementation of occupational health and safety at workplace in the year 2022.

The management system of the company has been audited and certified for compliance with the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality Management System), ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental Management System), and ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) for the following scope of activities:

1. Construction of buildings, roads, bridges, and hydropower;

2. Construction services for fabrication and production of building components;

3. Training and apprenticeship;

4. Design and engineering services; and 

5. Building solutions and maintenance services.
